Rehearsals

Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings in a downtown location from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, with a short break at 8:00pm.  Food, snacks, and drinks will be provided and there is some time to socialize with the orchestra members. 

Generally, there are five rehearsals prior to each concert plus a dress rehearsal and sound check immediately before the concert.  

Currently, there are four concerts scheduled per season (November, February, April, and June).  Concerts are generally on Saturday or Sunday evenings. 

All music will be provided to you electronically and you are free to either print the music on paper or to use an electronic device. 

Upcoming rehearsals for the November 9, 2024 concert will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church at 26 Delisle Avenue (near St. Clair and Yonge) from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on the following dates: 

• Tuesday, October 1st, 8th, 15th, and 29th
• Tuesday, November 5th

For efficiency and other logistical reasons, the order of the pieces for each of the rehearsals will generally be: 

• In the first half:
  • Gounod, Funeral March of a Marionette
  • Tchaikovsky, Francesca da Rimini
• In the second half:
  • Mussorgsky, Night on Bald Mountain
  • Saint-Saens, Danse Macabre
  • Ralph Vaughan Williams, The Lark Ascending
