Robert Wu
Cello
Robert is an avid amateur cellist who had only picked up the cello later in life at age 17 when he was inspired by listening to Dvorak's epic cello concerto one summer day. Robert studied the cello with Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra cellist Marsha Moffitt for many years in high school. And then later with cellist Sybil Shanahan in Toronto after eight year hiatus during universities. Robert has also taken a masterclass with TSO cellist Winona Zelenka. Without letting anything get in his way of playing the cello, Robert has dedicated his free time to playing the cello. He currently plays on an ex-Ifan Williams cello. During the day, Robert is a self-employed professional designer bookbinder working in the fine French tradition called la reliure d'art.
